So I went to city fire in Brownwood yesterday and I could actually say the food was much better than expected. I had the pork and it was really good. Friends had the pot roast just as good. It was bingo night there so they were a bit packed. Our waitress was amazing she knew the menu and drinks and pointed us in the right direction. All great suggestions. Will definitely go back.

Cozy atmosphere with efficient service. Chicken pot pie was very good. Short ribs with a substitution of slaw for vegetables was also good. Happy hour offered with a glass of wine for $4.44. Only wish dinner included a salad....

Was so hungry that I started eating before photo!! We ordered the shrimp pasta and the beef stroganoff. Both were so delicious. Best meal we've had in The Villages. Our server Mia was just lovely and super efficient.

Cool spot, nice interior vibe. Also, had an outdoor patio space. Right in the heart of Brownwood Paddock. Went for lunch, just before Bingo started. Waitress said it gets wild for Bingo so try to avoid Bingo unless you are an aggressive Bingo player. Our waitress was terrific, friendly and attentive, even with her many tables. She was amazing. Food was good, nothing wild. But good bar type food. We split the French Dip, came out HOT , which wad a plus. Most around here comes out room temp. We also had the blue cheese chips. Those were simple yet delicious. There is a space for a band so assuming on evenings they have a live band. We'll go again.

Major down pour left us soaking wet. Host with beautiful long hair sat us outside, he smartly told us, "so you don't freeze under the air conditioner." Solid, sound advice. Service was awesome and I was especially glad to see the manager step up and help out. Bringing drinks, food, bills. Helping his staff pull out of the weeds and help his staff provide service to the guest. All too often, I'll visit a restaurant and the manager is either hiding in back, jaw jacking with the regulars at the bar or just standing there, thumb in butt getting in the way of servers. Hat's off to you "Chubby, Bearded Sir" We've finally learned the trick of order salmon in The Villages. Order medium well, always sauce on side. Once upon a time, someone must have told a few cooks that salmon is to be served rare. This is of course true when you are cook fresh, hours old line caught Alaskan Salmon. They don't serve that fish here. Not for $10.00 they aren't. They serve a respectable factory grown, Atlantic farmed salmon. It comes in frozen and portioned. (Great for food cost). But it taste nasty raw. Medium well is the way to go. Seems all restaurants in The Villages over sauce the food or salad. you've been warned. Sauce on the side. We also had a flatbread and onion soup. Good, solid items. For my foodie friends. We all ordered a glass of wine. 2 Pinot Grigio and 1 Sauvignon Blanc. Two differentiate the Sauvi from the Pinot our server added a bar cherry to the Sauvi Blanc. Never in all my dinning experience have I seen this. It kind of spoke to the un-pretentiousness of the restaurant. City Fire: It's 2024. You will GAIN bar customers when you lose the smokers. We were seated far eough away, but the stink still traveled. And think of your hard workng employees who have to breath that crap all night. Enough.

We stumbled upon this place right before BINGO started. We were still able to get seats even though the place was jam packed. We took advantage of happy hour and played bingo, making new friends along the way. The margarita flatbread was the best I've had. The drinks were cheap. Best of all, the service was amazing...despite how busy they were. The locals raved about the service. I'd recommend this place, and look forward to going back. *UPDATE* We ended up going back that same night to bring our family. Stephanie was our server earlier in the day, so we were happy to get her again. This time there were six of us. These service was still exceptional. The food was also great again. My family had a great time. Thank you Stephanie for your hustle and sincerely sweet personality!

We stopped in for a quick bite before the music in the square. Last time we came by we couldn't get seated. I guess tonight was a little more laid back. We were able to get a seat outside, they have heat lamps up for comfort. Drinks were ordered and most came out shortly. I guess due to the busy holiday season they were out of a few things. The kids ordered mac and cheese (it looked like kraft so it was eaten without question), a hot dog and pasta with red sauce. The meals came with a drink and cheese flatbread. We ordered rib roast, a French dip and a Cuban sandwich. The French onion soup and house salad that came with the sandwiches was great. The French dip was great, meat and bread complemented each other and I really enjoyed it. The Cuban had good flavor and was okay, only issue is that it came in a flatbread. It wasn't terrible but it be wary if the bread makes your Cuban... Food, drinks and service was solid and I recommend City Fire for dinner anytime you're in this square.
